AGC

AGC (Automatic Gain Control)

Definition:

Automatic the Gain Control, by dynamically adjusting the gain (amplification or attenuation) of the audio signal, the amplitude of the output signal is kept within the preset range, avoiding distortion or inaccuracy due to too strong input signal.

Core principles:

Real-time monitoring of the input signal strength, when the signal is too strong to reduce the gain (such as human voice close to the microphone), too weak to increase the gain (such as long-distance pickup).

Commonly used in front-end processing of microphones and sound systems to ensure the stability of audio collection or playback.

Application Scenarios:

Smart Speaker:When the user commands at close range, the sensitivity of the microphone is automatically reduced, and the sound pickup effect is enhanced when shouting at a long distance, so as to avoid "big and small".

Recording equipment:When the human voice moves, the volume difference between the human voice and the ambient sound is automatically balanced to ensure the stable sound quality of the recording.

Technical value:

Solve the problem of large dynamic range of audio signals, reduce manual adjustment costs, and improve the consistency of user auditory experience.
